Running time 135 minutes. A surprisingly worthwhile re-imagining of the 1984 smash hit "The Karate Kid". A new job forces a single mum and her son Dre to move to Beijing, where Dre soon falls for a girl in his class. However, his feelings cause a stir with the class bully, who, along with a number of young students, is tutored by a psychotic kung fu master. In order to defend himself, Dre undertakes training from the school janitor, who is also a kung fu master (Jackie Chan). Warning: some violent scenes.
